I. Position Summary
Responsible for ensuring compliance in the area of education of Chicago Commons’ partner agencies. Provides training and technical assistance in curriculum and enhanced curricular for children zero-five. Will require traveling to partner agencies for support.

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field and a minimum of 3 years of direct teaching experience.

- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be comfortable using digital platforms to create printed materials for program use.

- Must be able to travel to multiple schools in diverse communities.
- Must be able to read and write English proficiently.
- Must regularly operate a word-processing system and therefore must be able to read, produce and transmit data on such a system.
IV. Desired Outcomes
- Conducts quarterly meetings with key stakeholders at external agencies, 4 meetings annually.
Monitor Education services across external agencies through unannounced and announced site visits to ensure compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
- Monitors child database systems for quality assurance and to intentionally plan areas of support.
- Work with direct supervisor on a yearly professional development plan. Identifies own learning needs and takes the steps necessary to develop skills and set challenging goals.
- Provide training and technical assistance to external agencies, as needed.
V. Essential Job Requirements & Duties

- Monitor Education services across external partnering agencies to ensure compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
- Assess program quality and make recommendations for program improvements to ensure compliance with funding requirements and quality programming for children.
- Represent Chicago Commons at applicable meetings and maintains a liaison with community, neighborhood institutions, and other relevant organizations.
- Travel to various Chicagoland neighborhoods to complete unannounced and announced site visits in alignment with established monitoring schedules.
- Develops improvement plans and tracks ongoing progress to ensure system enhancement.
- Provide training and technical assistance, as needed.
- Establish systems and create tools to help ensure accurate recording keeping and compliance.
- Monitor child database systems and provide support with producing quality observations, assigning educational objectives and improving child outcomes.
- Promote continuous quality improvement and quality assurance efforts for the agency.
- Monitor developmental screenings and ensure timely referrals.
- Provide oversight and support of coaching model and ensure implementation across agencies.
- Develop and disseminate information and resources related to early childhood to support teachers, classrooms, and program quality improvement efforts.
- Create tools and protocols that will assist partnering agencies in carrying out duties, implementing changes, and remaining in compliance.
- Plan relevant training opportunities and meetings.
- Work collaboratively team members and external agency staff to meet the needs of children and families.
- Assess classroom equipment and materials regularly.
- Support site-based staff in completing annual self-assessments.
- Other duties as assigned.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
