Job Summary
We are expanding our Last Mile delivery Network and is currently seeking independent contractors to drive our Company Cargo Van for Delivery Driver throughout metro Atlanta area. Excellent service will drive our success! In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing outstanding customer service. Your ability to handle manual tasks, and adhere to traffic regulations will be key to your success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of our logistics operations, delivering smiles along with packages!
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a cargo van or to deliver goods across designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with company standards
- Manage delivery documentation accurately using mobile devices and maintain detailed logs of deliveries, pickups, and route information
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients during deliveries, addressing questions professionally, and ensuring satisfaction
- Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling of heavy or bulky items, including proper weight handling in the workplace
- Assist with warehouse operations when needed, including inventory management, moving goods within the warehouse, and supporting team members in manual handling tasks
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with warehouse experience and delivery driving skills
- Ability to operate Sprinter cargo vana or personal vehicle for commercial purposes with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles and experience with manual handling techniques for heavy lifting
- Familiarity with route driving, adhering to traffic regulations, and managing time efficiently on delivery schedules
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally in diverse situations
- Understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and commercial trucking standards
