Overview
A warm, first-time parent family in the Village is seeking a part-time nanny for their 4-month-old daughter. Both parents are returning to work soon, with Dad working in-office five days per week and Mom working from home 2–3 days per week. The family is looking for a long-term nanny to become an extension of their household and provide attentive, developmentally focused care.
This is a childcare-centered role with light child-related tidying only. The family is specifically seeking someone who genuinely enjoys infants and is confident supporting early developmental milestones in a nurturing, engaged way. The family is looking for someone to start in the role as soon as the right candidate is identified, with coverage needed no later than August 3rd.
The Ideal Candidate for this Job
The ideal candidate is an experienced, nurturing, and attentive caregiver who genuinely enjoys working with infants and is confident supporting early developmental stages. The family is first-time parents and is seeking someone who can provide both hands-on infant care and gentle guidance as they establish routines and navigate early milestones. A strong understanding of infant development is important, along with the ability to engage the baby in meaningful, age-appropriate activities such as reading, sensory play, tummy time, and interaction that supports cognitive and motor skill development. The right candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable in a collaborative home where both parents may be present during portions of the week. They are also seeking someone who is professional, patient, and looking for a stable long-term position. College education or comparable experience is preferred.
Schedule
Approximately 26–30 hours per week.
Schedule is flexible within the following structure:
Start time between 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM
End time mid-afternoon
Typically Monday–Friday (or Monday–Thursday depending on final schedule alignment)
Exact daily hours will be finalized based on mutual fit and family needs.
About the Children
The family has one daughter who is 4 months old. She is in the early infant stage and primarily focused on feeding, sleeping, and beginning foundational developmental milestones. The family is highly engaged and loving, and they are seeking a nanny who will match that same level of attentiveness and care. They value a caregiver who will actively interact with Charlie throughout the day, supporting her development through talking, reading, play, and structured but flexible routines. As she grows, they are open to increased engagement outside of the home, including walks, outings, and play-based activities that support her social and sensory development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include full care of the infant during scheduled hours, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and developmentally supportive environment. This includes feeding support, diapering, maintaining sleep routines, and engaging Charlie in age-appropriate developmental activities such as reading, tummy time, sensory play, and interactive engagement throughout the day. The nanny will also be responsible for taking the baby on walks and, as she grows, participating in age-appropriate outings and activities outside the home when appropriate. Light child-related tasks are included, such as washing bottles and baby items used during the day, maintaining cleanliness and organization of nursery and play areas, and completing baby laundry as needed. No general housekeeping, errands, or non-child-related tasks are required, as the role is exclusively focused on infant care and child development support.
