Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures to create a positive first impression
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations in accordance with health regulation policies
- Schedule appointments accurately using patient management software and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently
- Collect and document patient information, ensuring all data is complete, accurate, and confidential
- Answer phone inquiries promptly, providing clear information about services, appointments, and billing processes
- Maintain patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and safeguarding sensitive information
- Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, document scanning, and managing patient flow within the office
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel for documentation purposes
- Knowledge of health insurance policies, billing procedures, and medical terminology to assist patients effectively
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) systems for managing patient data
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person
- Office experience demonstrating organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking ability
- Understanding of health regulation policies related to patient privacy and data security
