Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC machine programs to produce precision-engineered components. Your expertise will directly contribute to efficient production processes, high-quality outputs, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about machining technology, possesses strong mechanical and technical skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where precision and innovation drive success.
Duties
- Develop and write CNC programs for various machines including CNC lathes, milling machines (including 5-axis CNC machines), and electrical discharge machining equipment using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Set up CNC tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters to optimize machining processes while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Perform precision measurement using calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify parts meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing geometry, tooling wear, and machine performance; implement corrective actions promptly.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD design modifications and provide feedback for process improvements based on manufacturing insights.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and quality control records to ensure traceability and compliance with industry standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as Fanuc and G-code; experience with CAM software for programming complex parts.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA for designing and modifying parts and assemblies.
- Deep understanding of mechanical blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience operating CNC milling machines (including 5-axis CNC machines) and CNC lathes; familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM).
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, machining tool selection, geometry considerations, and precision measurement instruments like micrometers and bore gauges.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in machining processes.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately while applying engineering CAD design principles.
- Strong math skills essential for programming calculations involving measurement tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and geometric dimensions.
Join us if you’re eager to bring your CNC programming expertise into a collaborative environment that values innovation, precision engineering, and continuous growth!
