Network Cabling Services (NCS) is seeking an experienced Security/Access Control Technician to support commercial, industrial, and data center projects throughout the Houston area. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with access control systems, security cameras, and related security technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Install, configure, and maintain access control systems (card readers, keypads, biometric systems)
- Install and troubleshoot security cameras and surveillance systems
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on security equipment
- Troubleshoot networked security devices and software
- Collaborate with clients to ensure security systems meet operational needs and compliance standards
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, system configurations, and maintenance
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with access control systems
- Strong understanding of security hardware and software integration
- Experience with:
- Card readers (Proximity, Smart Cards, Biometric)
- Electronic locks and door controllers
- CCTV and IP camera systems
- Alarm systems and sensors
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex security systems
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, switches) is a plus
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on commercial, industrial, and data center sites
Qualifications
- Proven experience with installation and maintenance of access control systems
- Familiarity with BICSI, EIA/TIA, or NEC standards is a plus
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Willingness to travel to multiple project sites
