The Lead Early Learning Teacher is responsible for the day-to-day planning and implementation of the classroom's curriculum in creative and developmentally appropriate ways. She/he is responsible for ensuring that a classroom management system is developed and conveyed in daily practice. The Lead Early Learning Teacher is the program's primary contact person with a child's parent(s) or legal guardian regarding the child's cognitive and social/emotional development, behavior and/or other specific needs. She/he must demonstrate a wide degree of creativity, time management, and latitude to oversee classroom/program initiatives. The successful candidate must also be knowledgeable about DECAL, Quality Rated, and best practices in the field of early education through experience in applying and teaching others to apply the quality standards. Additional duties are assigned as needed, by supervisor.
Duties
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
- Maintain classroom environment including maintaining equipment and supplies
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Be present and timely for assigned shift.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement, including meeting annual training requirements and continuing education
Requirements
- Completed CDA or higher required; TCC preferred
- Minimum of 1 years of professional child care experience.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Commitment to the field of early childhood education and child care.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Ability and willingness to work with children of differing abilities.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Must clear full background check.
- Physically able to care for and interact with active toddlers. Physically able to maintain classroom environment (i.e. light cleaning, disinfecting, sweeping, pick up toys, etc.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
