Floater (Classroom Support Assistant)
Salary: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour (based on experience) Reports to: Lead Teachers & Head of School
Starting in August
The Floater provides flexible classroom support across all age groups, from infants through middle school. Moving where the day's needs are greatest, this team member steps into any classroom to support lead guides, maintain ratios, and ensure a calm, prepared environment for every child.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support across multiple classrooms and age groups as daily needs require.
- Assist lead guides in maintaining a calm, prepared, and safe environment.
- Help children build independence with eating, toileting, dressing, and self-care.
- Support classroom routines, transitions, meals, naptime, and outdoor play.
- Nurture social and emotional growth by modeling kindness, patience, and respect.
- Step in to maintain required staff-to-child ratios throughout the day.
- Partner with families and colleagues to support each child's development.

What We're Looking For
- A genuine love for children and a positive, team-oriented spirit.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with different ages and classrooms each day.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Montessori background preferred, but not necessary.
- Willingness to complete or already hold CPR/First Aid certification and 45-hour DCF training.
- Self-motivation, reliability, and professionalism in working with staff, children, and families.
