## Job Overview
The A La Carte & Banquet Server is responsible for providing professional, gracious, and attentive food and beverage service to Club Members and their guests in both the A La Carte Dining Rooms and Banquet/Private Events.
The ideal candidate understands that service in a private club is about more than delivering food and beverages. It is about creating a welcoming experience, anticipating Members’ needs, maintaining a high level of professionalism, and representing the Club with courtesy and discretion at all times.
## Responsibilities
- A La Carte Dining Service
- Greet and welcome Members and their guests in a warm, professional manner.
- Provide knowledgeable and attentive table service throughout the dining experience.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions regarding food and beverage selections.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system.
- Communicate Members’ requests, allergies, dietary restrictions, and special occasions to the appropriate staff.
- Serve food and beverages according to Club standards and established service procedures.
- Monitor tables throughout the meal and anticipate Members’ needs without being intrusive.
- Clear, reset, and maintain tables in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain proper sequence of service and coordinate with the kitchen, bar, food runners, and other service staff.
- Verify orders for accuracy and presentation before serving whenever possible.
- Present checks accurately and process payments according to Club procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of the Club's menus, wines, spirits, beers, and other beverages.
Banquet & Private Event Service
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of private events, banquets, receptions, meetings, and special Club functions.
- Set tables according to event specifications, including china, glassware, silverware, linens, and other required items.
- Provide efficient and polished table, buffet, cocktail, and banquet service.
- Serve multiple guests simultaneously while maintaining proper timing and presentation.
- Assist with passed hors d'oeuvres, plated dinners, family-style service, buffets, and beverage service.
- Communicate effectively with the Banquet Captain, Manager, Chef, and other team members during events.
- Maintain awareness of event timelines and ensure service is coordinated with the kitchen and event schedule.
- Assist with room breakdown and return the dining or event space to Club standards after the event.
## Qualifications
- Previous restaurant preferable, banquet, hotel, country club, or private club serving experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to carry plates, trays, glassware, and other service items safely.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Ability to learn and accurately describe menu items and Club offerings.
- POS experience preferred.
- Wine and beverage knowledge is a plus.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.92 - $25.00 per hour
