We’re looking for an experienced Lead Painter / Crew Leader to head up our projects and guide our team. If you’re awesome at what you do, take pride in high-quality craftsmanship, but prefer a workplace that feels more like a tight-knit crew than a corporate grind, you’ll fit right in.
In this role, you’ll be running the show across a variety of residential and commercial gigs. We need someone who can keep projects moving on schedule and make sure our clients are thrilled with the results, all while keeping things safe, positive, and down-to-earth on the job.
Our crew handles a solid mix of high-quality work, and we pride ourselves on doing it right. Typical projects include:
- Residential & Commercial: Full interior and exterior painting for both homes and commercial properties.
- Shop Prefinishing: Staining and painting trim, doors, and other components in a controlled shop environment before they hit the field.
- On-Site Trim Work: Delivering a flawless trim paint right on the job site.
- Specialty Prep & Repair: Comprehensive wall preparation, including popcorn ceiling removal, skim coating, and drywall patching.
What You'll Do (The Day-to-Day)
- Lead the Crew: Keep the team organized, assign tasks, and keep the workflow smooth and positive on-site or in the shop.
- Master the Prep: Oversee and execute critical preparation work—from basic sanding to detailed popcorn removal, skim coating, and drywall patching—ensuring every surface is perfectly primed for a lasting finish.
- Rock the Applications: Roll up your sleeves and apply coatings beautifully using brushes, rollers, and sprayers across interiors, exteriors, and prefinish items.
- Keep It Safe: Look out for your crew. Enforce common-sense safety, use proper respiratory gear when needed, and keep the job site clean and hazard-free.
- Talk to People: Touch base with clients, project managers, and subs to keep everyone on the same page and hit our deadlines without the drama.
- Quality Check: Keep an eye out for details. Ensure colors match perfectly, surfaces are smooth, and everything meets our high standards before we call it a wrap.
What You Bring to the Table
- Solid Experience: You've spent plenty of time in the trade, navigating residential and commercial settings (both interior and exterior) like a pro.
- Versatile Craftsmanship: You are equally comfortable spray-painting a commercial exterior, staining doors in the shop, or laying down smooth skim coats on rough drywall.
- Equipment Smarts: You're a pro with hand tools, power tools, and airless paint sprayers.
- Eye for Detail: You understand color, know how to read project layouts/specs, and can troubleshoot issues quickly on the fly.
- Leadership, Not Bossiness: You're a natural leader who motivates the crew, solves problems constructively, and leads by example.
- Basic Math Skills: Just enough to handle quick measurements and layout calculations on-site.
We deeply appreciate hard work and elite craftsmanship, but we don't believe in micromanagement or a stressful work environment. We work hard, we do beautiful work, and we have a good time doing it. If you want to lead a talented team where your skills are actually valued, let's talk!
