POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Wait Staff creates an enjoyable dining experience while supporting operations and staff leadership. Schedule to include, but not limited to, one weekend day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function)

Ensures residents have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service
- Completes all tasks assigned according to designated section, including orders, service, and side work (*CF)
- Charges all guest meals and miscellaneous items correctly
- Ensures proper hygiene standards, including glove use and handwashing
- Maintains dining room safety, ensuring areas are free of hazards including walkers and mobility devices (*CF)
- All other duties as assigned
Leadership and Team Support *CF

Acts as lead point of contact for waitstaff during service, especially in the absence of the manager
- Assists manager in communicating expectations and addressing staff performance concerns
- Provides guidance, answers questions, and supports team members during service
- Helps assign side work, cleaning duties, and service sections to ensure efficient operations
- Assists with onboarding and training of new staff, including assigning trainees to trainers
- Promotes a positive, calm, and team-oriented work environment
Operational Support *CF

Ensures dining room readiness prior to service, including:
- Fully set tables

Polished silverware

Completed deliveries

Properly stocked service
- Provides coverage for other dining areas as needed to support operations
- Ensures smooth transition between shifts and consistent service execution
Communication and Coordination *CF

Communicates staffing changes such as call-outs, lateness, and coverage needs to appropriate team members
- Assists staff in finding shift coverage and properly submitting PTO requests
- Provides post-service updates to management, including service performance and any issues
- Participates in regular meetings with management to review operations and feedback
Point of Sale (POS) Responsibilities *CF

Updates POS system during service as needed (menu changes, item availability, pricing updates)
- Ensures accuracy of menu items and communicates any changes to staff promptly

High school graduate or HSE preferred
- Prior server training or food service experience preferred

Basic computer skills required
- Able to write legibly, takes oral and written instruction well

Has demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the elderly or geriatric population
