The New Beginnings Adolescent Mental Health Therapist provides therapeutic services to adolescents experiencing severe emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges within the New Beginnings Treatment Program(s). This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions in individual, group, and family settings. The therapist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and effective care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for adolescent clients.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Develop and document individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
Therapeutic Interventions:
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, Trauma-Informed Care).
- Develop and implement strategies to address emotional regulation, coping skills, and other therapeutic goals.
- Adjust treatment plans as needed to reflect client progress and changing needs.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other members of the care team, including psychiatrists, case managers, DCFS, JJS, and school counselors.
- Engage with families to provide education, support, and strategies for enhancing the adolescent’s well-being.
- Coordinate with external agencies and resources to support comprehensive care.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and utilization review updates.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards, including confidentiality and informed consent.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable licensing requirements.
Crisis Intervention:
- Assess and manage crisis situations, providing immediate therapeutic interventions and support.
- Develop and implement safety plans when necessary.
- Collaborate with emergency services or hospital staff for acute care as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position will involve working with clients in the New Beginnings residential treatment and outpatient treatment settings.
- Flexible scheduling, including evenings or weekends, may be required.
- Physical demands include the ability to sit, stand, and perform light physical activity during sessions or group facilitation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
