Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage inventory levels, oversee stock movements, and ensure accurate record-keeping within our warehouse operations. Your proactive approach will help optimize supply chain processes, improve inventory accuracy, and support seamless order fulfillment.
Duties
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems such as AS400 or SAP.
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and audits to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Manage inbound shipments, verify quantities, inspect materials for quality, and coordinate receiving activities including shipping & receiving procedures.
- Support procurement activities by sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and managing contracts to optimize costs.
- Analyze inventory data using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Nielsen to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist with demand planning and supply chain analytics to forecast needs and optimize stocking strategies.
- Collaborate with logistics teams on order fulfillment, materials handling, and production planning to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, inventory management, or supply chain roles with a strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 or SAP.
- Demonstrated skills in data analysis, data visualization (Power BI, Tableau), and root cause analysis to resolve inventory discrepancies or process inefficiencies.
- Knowledge of procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, contracts management, and supplier relations.
- Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; certification preferred.
- Familiarity with logistics operations including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, demand planning, and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to utilize SQL or other data collection tools for reporting purposes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
