Feintool Tennessee, Inc. is a precision metal-stamping manufacturer of automotive parts. We have a full-time opportunity available for an experienced Quality Engineer.
Summary of Function
1. Quality Planning - Coordinating and completing activities for new program launches
2. Quality Control - Facilitating problem solving for internal and external related quality issues
3. Quality Systems - Development and maintain systems to support manufacturing operation
Major Duties and Responsibilities
General Administration
§ Demonstrate organizational skills utilizing the 5S (sort, separate, sweep, standardize and sustain) concept.
§ Prepare timely meeting minutes of meetings attended at customer sites and/or supplier sites, or facilitated on-site customer visits.
§ Ensure management of action items
§ Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
§ Utilize visual management tools and techniques to manage and communicate the status and progress of activity and projects
Quality Planning
§ Coordinate and prepare all quality planning documentation in accordance with the organization’s advanced product quality planning
§ Maintain schedules of activity and management milestone completion of activities in accordance with new program launch schedules.
§ Coordinate all customer PPAP requirements for annual re-validations for part quality confirmations
§ Develop and maintain quality planning documentation including Control Plans, PFMEA, and inspection instructions
Quality Control
§ Manage, investigate, and resolve customer and internal related quality problems while utilizing various problem solving techniques such as 5 why, fishbone diagrams, and PDCA.
§ Participate in “Go and See” visits to customer and/or suppliers in order to investigate and problem solve quality issues
§ Provide reports and/or presentations of corrective action during customer visits and to management
§ Facilitate problem investigation activity with cross-functional departments
§ Review material or product segregated as defective or suspect in order to provide proper disposition
§ Provide proper instructions for material or product which can be reworked for resale
§ Process the disposition in the Plex information management system
§ Provide support to the Quality Control team and production operations team with review and judgment of part quality concerns when quality conditions are not clear to the standard.
§ Coordinate and manage third party containment efforts in order to minimize customer impact and ensure timely clean point
Quality Systems
§ Participate as an auditor within the Layered Process Audit system conducting layered process audits and preparing summary reports of layered process audit results
§ Identify and document processes which need to be standardized and included within the quality management system
§ Assist with providing training to the production operations team training initiatives
Experience Requirements
§ Require 5+ years of experience working in a quality engineering role preferably in a manufacturing environment
§ Demonstrated experience with SPC and Process Capability
§ Experience with problem solving techniques and process improvement tools including, but not limited to 5 why, cause and effect diagrams, flowcharting
§ Demonstrated working knowledge of blue print reading and GD&T
§ Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as TS16949, ISO9001, etc.
§ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, etc.)
§ Working knowledge of statistical process control software (Minitab, etc.)

Pay: Up to $90,000.00 per year
