Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cleanup of construction sites, ensuring a safe and organized environment for all team members. Operate various hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support construction activities. Perform heavy lifting of materials such as rebar, concrete forms, or framing components to facilitate ongoing work. Support concrete-related tasks including mixing, pouring, finishing, and pumping to achieve high-quality results. Install rebar, metal stud framing, drywall, stucco, and other structural elements following schematics and blueprints. Participate in masonry work such as bricklaying or stone setting, contributing to durable and aesthetic structures. Assist with roofing, flooring installation, tile laying, and trim carpentry to enhance building finishes. Read blueprints and schematics accurately to support framing, renovation projects, or restoration efforts. Operate heavy machinery like forklifts or cranes when necessary for material movement or positioning. Support demolition or renovation activities by removing old materials and preparing surfaces for new work. Apply caulking, plastering, or masonry techniques to ensure weather-tightness and finish quality on various surfaces. Help with site safety protocols by maintaining clear walkways and assisting in safety inspections.
Experience
Previous experience working on construction sites is highly desirable; familiarity with commercial or residential projects will be advantageous. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, concrete mixers, and heavy equipment operation is essential for success in this role. Knowledge of construction estimating processes can be a plus but is not required; willingness to learn is appreciated. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately supports precise execution of tasks. Experience with masonry techniques such as rebar installation or tile laying enhances your versatility on site. Familiarity with safety procedures related to heavy lifting, scaffolding, roofing, or restoration projects is important. A valid driver’s license for commercial driving may be preferred for roles involving material transportation.
