About CMG
Consultants Medical Group is a medical-legal consulting firm led by board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Hugh Selznick. We provide independent medical examinations, expert witness services, record reviews, rebuttal reports, depositions, and trial testimony to defense law firms and insurance carriers across Nevada and nationally. We specialize in complex, high-value personal injury and civil litigation matters — not high-volume workers’ compensation.
About the Role
We are looking for a business development professional who already understands our world. You know what an IME is. You know the difference between a claims adjuster and a litigation manager. You’ve worked with or alongside defense law firms, insurance carriers, or medical-legal service providers — and you understand how referral relationships in this space are built, maintained, and grown.
This is not a social media or general marketing role. It is a direct outreach, relationship-building, and pipeline management role. You will be responsible for identifying the right contacts, reaching them professionally, following up consistently, and building the referral relationships that drive new IME, record review, and expert witness case volume for CMG.
What You’ll Do
Business Development & Outreach
- Identify and conduct direct outreach to defense law firms, insurance carriers, claims adjusters, major case adjusters, complex claims adjusters, litigation specialists, litigation managers, and TPAs (Third Party Administrators) across Nevada and nationally
- Build and grow referral relationships with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, in-house counsel, and senior claims professionals
- Execute structured multi-touch outreach sequences via email, phone, and LinkedIn
- Manage follow-up cadence across a pipeline of 50–100+ active prospects at any time
- Identify and prioritize the highest-value referral targets based on case type, firm size, and litigation volume
CRM & Pipeline Management
- Build, maintain, and update CMG’s prospect and referral database in a CRM system
- Log all outreach activity, contact details, follow-up dates, and relationship status
- Track referral source performance — which contacts are sending cases, how often, and at what value
- Generate regular pipeline reports for leadership showing outreach volume, conversion activity, and referral development progress
- Maintain organized records of all client and prospect communications
Conferences & Industry Presence
- Research, recommend, and attend relevant industry conferences and professional associations including CLM (Claims & Litigation Management Alliance), DRI (Defense Research Institute), PLRB (Property & Liability Resource Bureau), RIMS, and LVDL (Las Vegas Defense Lawyers)
- Represent CMG professionally at networking events and association meetings
- Identify speaking, sponsorship, and educational presentation opportunities for Dr. Selznick
- Build relationships within the Nevada defense bar and insurance community through consistent event presence
Referral Source Development
- Develop and execute outreach strategies targeting the full spectrum of CMG referral sources: defense law firms, insurance carriers, TPAs, self-insured corporations, municipalities, and in-house litigation departments
- Identify paralegals and legal assistants at defense firms as key relationship contacts — not just attorneys
- Coordinate and support educational lunch presentations and facility tours for prospective referral sources
- Nurture existing referral relationships with regular touchpoints, case updates, and check-ins
Market Research & Strategy
- Conduct ongoing research to identify new defense firms, carriers, and adjusters in Nevada and target national markets
- Build and maintain ranked prospect lists with contact names, titles, firm size, and outreach history
- Monitor competitor activity and identify positioning opportunities for CMG
- Identify emerging opportunities in room rental, IME coordination, and national expert witness referrals
What We’re Looking For
Required Background
- Direct experience working with or marketing to defense law firms, insurance carriers, claims departments, or litigation teams
- Background in one or more of the following: medical-legal services, IME coordination, insurance defense, claims management, legal nurse consulting, litigation support, TPA services, or expert witness services
- Proven ability to build new referral or client relationships through direct outreach — not just maintaining existing accounts
- Demonstrable track record of pipeline management and consistent follow-through
Skills & Capabilities
- Professional and polished written and verbal communicator — comfortable corresponding with attorneys, senior adjusters, and litigation professionals
- Proficient in CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) — able to build and maintain a structured outreach database independently
- Strong research skills — able to identify decision-makers at law firms and carriers from scratch using LinkedIn, state bar directories, industry associations, and other sources
- Organized and self-directed — able to manage a full outreach pipeline without daily supervision
- Comfortable attending professional networking events and representing CMG in person
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and standard business software
Preferred
- Existing relationships within the Nevada defense bar or insurance carrier community
- Familiarity with CLM, DRI, LVDL, or similar professional associations
- Experience coordinating educational presentations or lunch-and-learn programs for law firms or carriers
- Knowledge of orthopedic terminology, IME processes, or expert witness retention procedures
Compensation & Benefits
- $40,000 annual base salary
- 2% commission on all collected cases generated through your referrals
- Health insurance
- In-person position based in Las Vegas, NV
