We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Medical Technician (Med Tech) to join our vibrant healthcare team. Duties
- Assist with resident personal care, including hygiene, mobility, and daily activities, ensuring respectful and compassionate support.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and state healthcare guidelines.
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral management strategies.
- Assist with medical procedures such as tube feeding, catheter care, and basic first aid or CPR in emergency situations.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure all records comply with HIPAA and state regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff to ensure seamless communication about resident needs and care plans.
Qualifications
- Prior assisted living or senior care experience is highly preferred; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a nursing home setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and senior living facility operations.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications in hospice care or Alzheimer’s/dementia care are advantageous.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR systems such as Cerner is desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to work effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality at all times.
- Working knowledge of state healthcare regulations related to senior living facilities and medical documentation standards.
