Child Care Center Administrator
Sidney-Shelby County YMCA – Fairhaven Satellite Location

The Sidney-Shelby County YMCA is seeking an experienced and dedicated Child Care Center Administrator to provide leadership and oversight at our Fairhaven satellite location. This position supports our infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age programs and plays an important role in maintaining high-quality child care, supporting staff, ensuring licensing compliance, and creating a positive experience for children and families.
The ideal candidate is an experienced early childhood professional who enjoys leading a team, building relationships with families, and helping create a safe, organized, and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of Child Development Center staff at Fairhaven.
- Support, train, and develop teaching staff in collaboration with the CDC management team.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet program and enrollment needs.
- Ensure compliance with Ohio child care licensing requirements and Step Up To Quality program standards.
- Maintain required staff records, licensing documentation, and program materials.
- Participate in licensing and program inspections and help ensure ongoing readiness for compliance reviews.
- Support staff professional development and required early childhood training.
- Conduct parent and child orientations and tours at the Fairhaven location.
- Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, staff, and volunteers.
- Monitor lesson planning and implementation of the Creative Curriculum.
- Support completion of required child assessments and evaluations.
- Assist with registration materials, parent communications, program information, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Communicate program, staffing, family, child, or facility concerns to the Child Development Director.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and safe child care environment.
- Answer phones and greet parents as needed.
- Provide classroom coverage and serve as a child care substitute when needed.
- Complete required YMCA youth abuse prevention and other professional training.
- Perform additional duties and participate on YMCA committees as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of child care experience; administrative experience preferred.
- Must also have one of the following:
- Degree in Early Childhood Development/Education
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
- Minimum of 12 credit hours in Early Childhood Development from an accredited college
- Strong communication, organization, planning, time-management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise and support both staff and children.
- Ability to establish positive professional relationships with children, families, staff, and volunteers.
- CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse Recognition and Prevention certifications required.
- Must be able to meet all applicable child care licensing and training requirements.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $54,798.77 per year
