Southern Oregon ESD seeks two dedicated Autism Specialists to support students within a 35-mile radius of Medford, Oregon—from the Ashland area up to Eagle Point and Grants Pass. This full-time, contract position is well-suited for Master’s level Special Education Teachers, School Psychologists with a TSPC license, SLPs (including Board Certified), or BCBAs with a strong background in autism services and public education.
In this dynamic role, you will provide direct support to K-12 students and collaborate with school teams to ensure comprehensive and individualized care for students on the autism spectrum. Your expertise will help shape positive educational outcomes for students across a range of severity levels, from those in general education classrooms to those in self-contained settings.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students on the autism spectrum across various grades and age levels
- Demonstrated skill with students exhibiting a broad range of autism spectrum severity (including both high-functioning and non-speaking, severely impacted students)
- Experience completing autism evaluations and assessments to determine student needs and measure impacts
- Valid Oregon licensure and required certifications (TSPC, BCBA, SLP as applicable)
- Familiarity with public education and special education settings
- Onsite availability; open to candidates seeking travel assignments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver autism consultation and specialist services to district schools
- Conduct assessments and provide input on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and service teams
- Offer expertise and training on evidence-based strategies in autism intervention
