Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
- Support patient transfer methods using manual handling techniques and gait belts to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems or PCC, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Follow infection control protocols rigorously to prevent the spread of care facility infections and safeguard patient health.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address patient needs compassionately.
Skills
- Experience working with geriatric patients or in geriatrics-focused care facilities is preferred.
- Understanding of infection control practices and patient safety standards ensures a secure environment for all patients and staff.
- Excellent caregiver communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams and providing empathetic patient support.
