Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping journey
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Assist customers with product demos, upselling opportunities, and answering questions about merchandise
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout areas, including stocking and merchandising as needed
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or directing calls
- Support inventory management by stocking shelves and conducting regular stock checks
Requirements
- Prior experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales is preferred
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills are a plus
- Bilingual abilities to serve diverse customer needs are highly valued
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette are essential for effective customer interactions
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for cash handling and retail math tasks
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with merchandising practices is advantageous
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as required
