Aver Sign Company is seeking a motivated Sign Technician to join our installation team. This position is ideal for individuals with construction, skilled trades, general labor, maintenance, or related experience who are interested in building a career in the sign industry.
As a Sign Technician, you will work alongside experienced installers to assist with the installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of commercial signage. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn.
Essential Responsibilities
Installation Support
- Assist with the installation of interior and exterior signage
- Help install channel letters, cabinet signs, monument signs, wall signs, dimensional lettering, vinyl graphics, and wayfinding systems
- Load, unload, and transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites
- Prepare installation areas and assist with project setup and cleanup
- Follow installation instructions, drawings, and work orders
- Assist with sign maintenance and repair projects
- Replace sign components, lighting elements, and hardware as directed
- Perform routine inspections and service work
- Support troubleshooting efforts under the guidance of experienced technicians
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, carpentry, electrical work, maintenance, landscaping, general labor, or a related field preferred
- No sign industry experience required; training will be provided
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record or Chauffeur preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting
- Comfortable working at heights after appropriate training
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day
