Nolan Kemp for Illinois House is seeking a motivated political consultant, campaign organizer, or emerging campaign professional to join our team in a part-time or contract capacity. This role is ideal for someone with political, organizing, communications, fundraising, or field experience who wants to help build a competitive grassroots campaign in a rural Illinois House district.
We are also strongly encouraging students, recent graduates, first-time campaign workers, and young organizers to apply. This campaign is focused not only on winning, but on building a stronger youth base, training the next generation of Democratic organizers, and giving emerging leaders hands-on experience in real campaign work.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Assisting with campaign strategy, field planning, and voter contact programs
- Helping recruit, train, and manage volunteers and interns
- Supporting youth outreach efforts on campuses, online, and in local communities
- Assisting with canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and event turnout
- Helping plan campaign events, fundraisers, meet-and-greets, and community outreach
- Drafting social media content, emails, press materials, and campaign messaging
- Conducting basic political, voter, opposition, or district research
- Helping track voter contact goals, volunteer activity, and campaign progress
- Supporting fundraising outreach and donor follow-up when appropriate
- Representing the campaign professionally at local events and community meetings
Ideal Qualifications:
- Experience or interest in political campaigns, organizing, government, communications, public service, or advocacy
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
- Comfortable talking with voters, volunteers, donors, and community members
- Knowledge of rural Illinois, local politics, or Democratic organizing is a plus
- Experience with VAN, MiniVAN, social media, Canva, Zoom, or campaign tools is helpful but not required
- Students, interns, recent graduates, and first-time campaign workers are encouraged to apply
Compensation:This may be a paid part-time, contract, stipend-based, or internship/fellowship position depending on experience, availability, and campaign needs. School credit may also be available where applicable.
