Job Overview
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of our company. In this role, you will supervise our Billing Clerk, manage accounts payable, maintain accurate financial records, and support smooth cash flow operations. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities will help keep our financial operations running efficiently and accurately.
Duties
- Supervise and review the work of the Billing Clerk, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of billing and accounts receivable processes. Additionally, provide light oversight of the payroll process and Administrative Assistant duties.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, including payment selection, vendor lien waivers, and year-end 1099 preparation.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash position across all accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and support year-end work for the annual accounting review.
- Track company fixed assets and maintain accurate financial records.
- File state sales tax reports and payments.
- Process corporate tax payments, including quarterly tax estimates.
- Maintain business, health, dental, life, and disability insurance policies, and coordinate the annual workers' compensation audit.
- Utilize accounting software (Sage 50) to manage payables and financial reporting.
Requirements
- Associates degree and 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within construction industry.
- Experience supervising or reviewing the work of accounting staff a plus.
- Proficiency with Sage 50 or comparable accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Trustworthy and reliable in handling confidential financial information.
