Salt River Veterinary Specialists is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing specialty team in our new hospital in Scottsdale.
We are looking for more than technical skills. We want someone who brings positive energy, compassion, professionalism, and a genuine desire to be part of a great team. The right person is dependable, takes pride in their work, treats patients and coworkers with kindness, and enjoys learning and growing.
We are especially interested in technicians with strong clinical experience, but we are willing to train the right person who may not have extensive specialty experience yet. If you have a solid veterinary foundation, a great attitude, and the desire to learn, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
Our technicians are an important part of the medical team and work closely with our veterinarians and support staff. Responsibilities may include:
- Providing high-quality nursing care for hospitalized and specialty patients
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Patient restraint and handling
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Assisting with surgery and advanced diagnostic procedures
- Preparing patients for procedures and diagnostic imaging
- Collecting and processing laboratory samples
- Administering medications and treatments
- Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
- Communicating professionally with clients, doctors, and coworkers
- Keeping treatment areas clean, organized, and ready for the next patient
- Continuing to develop your technical and specialty skills

Specialty or emergency experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are happy to teach and develop the right person. If you have a strong veterinary foundation but need additional training in specialty procedures, advanced anesthesia, or other technical skills, we are willing to invest in you.
