Authorization Coordinator (Contract)

Jones Networking is recruiting for an Authorization Coordinator for an opportunity with a Home Health Care Facility in Baltimore County, Maryland.
Responsibilities of the Authorization Coordinator:
- Obtain and track authorizations for homecare
- Coordinates with third parties to ensure authorizations are obtained and errors corrected
- Completes monthly insurance eligibility and benefit checks
- Documents benefits, authorization and relevant billing information in records
- Answers incoming calls
- Manages all aspects of insurance including referral process, contacting patients, coordinating start of care and maintaining updates
- Advise appropriate people if insurance coverage changes
- Updates management with any potential write-offs
Requirements of the Authorization Coordinator:
- Must have at least 3 years of experience handling insurance eligibility
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Tech savvy and proficient with MS Office Suite
- Organized, excellent attention to detail and strong at multitasking
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast paced environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks according to importance
- Excellent talent for interacting with people in a positive and courteous manner
