Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, standards, and safety guidelines
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient prep to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other appliances
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and hygiene practices
- Support catering events and special meal preparations as needed, ensuring quality and presentation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is highly preferred
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Knowledge of food safety management and adherence to safety standards in production
- Experience with dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
- Familiarity with food industry practices including meal preparation, recipe adherence, and food handling protocols
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
