Our client is seeking a Contract Legal Assistant to provide legal and administrative support to attorneys handling regulatory enforcement matters.
The Legal Assistant will support attorneys with reviewing legal orders, appeals, enforcement of final orders, legal correspondence, court-related documentation, collections, case management, and maintaining accurate electronic case records.
This is a full-time hybrid position based in Nashville, Tennessee, requiring a combination of in-office and work-from-home work.
Review draft enforcement orders for factual accuracy, supporting documentation, respondent information, addresses, proofreading, and overall quality control.
Prepare attorney cover letters and coordinate service of legal documents.
Assist attorneys with appeals and enforcement-related matters.
Communicate with pro se respondents and opposing counsel.
Draft agreed final orders and settlement documents.
Prepare Notices of Hearing and assist with docketing.
Proofread motions and assist with discovery responses.
Support depositions and hearings.
Serve as a primary case manager for assigned enforcement matters.
Draft demand letters for attorney review and signature.
Track responses and follow up on outstanding matters.
Prepare referral memoranda for attorney review.
Assist with collections of civil penalties and damages.
Prepare draft warrants and affidavits for attorney review.
Coordinate signatures and filing of approved court documents.
Provide timely updates and documents to assigned attorneys.
Enter case updates and upload documents into the case management system.
Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date case files.
Experience in a legal assistant, paralegal, legal administrative, litigation support, or similar role.
Strong document preparation and proofreading skills.
Experience with case management and maintaining legal records.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive legal information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
Experience supporting attorneys with hearings, filings, discovery, appeals, or litigation is preferred.
Government, regulatory, environmental, or enforcement-related legal experience is a plus.
