Responsibilities

- Conduct assessments using standardized testing and formative evaluations to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with special education teams to develop and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring tailored support for each student’s goals.
- Engage in early intervention practices, preschool experience, or toddler care initiatives to support early childhood development and literacy education.
- Utilize learning technology for instructional purposes, including tutoring, literacy programs, math instruction, and recreational therapy activities.
- Mentor new teachers and provide guidance on curriculum development, instructional design, and best practices in special education.
- Support extracurricular activities such as physical education or music therapy sessions that promote holistic student well-being.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, behavior management plans, and instructional materials to ensure compliance with educational standards. Requirements
- Valid teaching certification or licensure appropriate for the grade level or subject area.
- Demonstrated experience working with children or young adults in classroom settings, including private schools or early childhood environments.
- Strong knowledge of special education practices, IEP development, behavioral health strategies, and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Proficiency in using learning technology tools for instruction, assessment, and communication purposes.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and support staff.
- Experience in curriculum development across multiple disciplines such as literacy education, math, physical education, or library services is preferred.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior proactively while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Background working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is highly desirable.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in areas like applied behavior analysis (ABA), instructional design, Montessori methods or early intervention programs.
