Responsibilities
- Assist with implementing individualized behavior management plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to promote positive behaviors.
- Support clients with activities of daily living, ensuring their safety and comfort during sessions.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medical documentation, and behavioral data accurately to track progress and inform treatment strategies.
- Conduct intake assessments and participate in medical records management while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Respond effectively to behavioral crises or emergencies through crisis intervention and crisis management protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, medical staff, and family members, to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
- Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety procedures related to medical terminology and patient care.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, behavior management strategies, and crisis management protocols.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with autism, PTSD care needs, addiction counseling, or disabilities enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Ability to accurately collect data, document medical records, and understand medical terminology related to behavioral health.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, families, and team members in a respectful and professional manner.
- Certification or training in applied behavior analysis (ABA), social work, or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
