Director of Business Development – Behavioral Health / SUD
New Jersey (Travel between 3 locations)
We are partnering with a growing behavioral health organization in New Jersey seeking a high-energy Director of Business Development to drive referral growth and expand their presence in the behavioral health and substance use disorder (SUD) space.
This is a true boots-on-the-ground rainmaker role. They are looking for someone who thrives in the field, builds strong referral relationships, and wants to play a key role in growing something meaningful.
Compensation & Benefits

What You'll Do
- Build and maintain strong referral pipelines across the NJ behavioral health ecosystem
- Develop relationships with parole/probation offices, treatment centers, hospitals, and community partners
- Represent the organization at conferences, networking events, and industry functions
- Travel between the organization’s three New Jersey locations, especially early on
- Lead and mentor a junior outreach team while elevating overall outreach strategy
- Drive census growth and brand visibility throughout the region
What They're Looking For
- Strong experience in behavioral health and/or SUD outreach
- Established network within the NJ behavioral health community
- Demonstrated success growing census and referral pipelines
- A strategic thinker who can also execute in the field
- Entrepreneurial mindset with serious hustle and big aspirations
- Comfortable being highly visible and relationship-driven
This is not a maintenance role — they want someone who wants to build, grow, and lead.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
