Job Overview
Forklift Operator is responsible for the movement of material from inventory to production and back to inventory. Maintains correct paperwork and production records as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all safety protocols, including PPE requirements are followed.
- Completes pre-shift/startup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
- Monitor and maintain inventory.
- Stack and secure materials in a safe way
- Provides production departments with material according to production schedule.
- Moves finished goods to inventory.
- Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Participates in safety and other programs.
- Follows all safety protocols and actively participates in safety training.
- Other duties may be assigned or reassigned at any time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven experience as forklift operator
- Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions.
- Organized, analytical thinker, and problem solver.
Education and Experience
- Two year’s related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; required.
- Basic computer skills
