Forklift operator job description
Riverside Brick & Supply Co relies on the accurate and efficient distribution of masonry materials throughout central and eastern Virginia. We’re currently seeking a forklift operator who has experience and a strong record of safety and reliability. The main responsibilities are loading, unloading, moving and handling all types of masonry and construction materials; filling orders and interacting with customers in various settings.
Objectives of this role
-Operate both fork lifts and skid steers to load and unload masonry materials
-Work with drivers, customers and sales reps to ensure accurate order fulfillment
-Manage inventory and keep yard and warehouse clean
-Inspect received material and learn about various products
-Report safety hazards, quality concerns, and production issues to a manager as soon as they occur
Responsibilities
-Pick, pack, check, and load products accurately and safely
-Complete forms and handle documentation
-Inspect machinery to determine need for repairs
-Maintain accurate production records and reports of issues
Required skills and qualifications
-Certification to operate forklifts or forklift experience
-Ability to lift 94 lbs.
-Ability to speak, read and write English
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
