OnPoint Veterinary Urgent Care is a privately owned daytime emergency practice seeking experienced veterinary nurses to grow our team. Come join our team to practice high quality, accessible veterinary medicine in a newly renovated clinic with a full suite of new equipment! No wellness care provided - all the fulfillment of emergency medicine without the overnight hours. Full time is three 12-hour shifts per week with unlimited & paid time off, 401k matching, health insurance coverage, CE reimbursement, and more!
Veterinary Nurses are responsible for triage/patient intake, client communication, collection of biological samples, obtaining diagnostics, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases, administration of medications, assisting with anesthesia and sedated procedures, and maintaining patient electronic medical records. You can expect to learn urinary catheter placement in dogs and cats, wound management, cystocentesis, cytology, and other advanced technical skills.
Job Requirements:
- 1-2 years experience as a trained veterinary nurse/technician
- Positive attitude and love for patient care
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work rotating schedule to include rotating weekends
- Proficient in low stress patient handling
- Proficient in phlebotomy and lab sample processing
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Willingness to learn, grow, and advance skillset
- Adaptable to multiple doctors
- Evening/weekend availability
