Job Title: Video Production Technician

Job Type: Full-Time with Benefits, Non-Exempt, Hourly
Department: Production
Hiring Salary Range: $45,000
VPM is hiring a Video Production Technician!
VPM is dedicated to informing, inspiring, and connecting our community. Beyond broadcasting, our physical spaces serve as hubs for storytelling, civic dialogue, creativity, and public connection. We connect people across Central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley to insightful programming in arts and culture, history, science, news, and education.
We are currently seeking a Video Production Technician in our Richmond, VA location to provide operational, creative, and technical support for live and recorded studio and remote audio/video productions.
The ideal candidate possesses 21st-century technical skills for video production and engineering, as well as a curiosity for cross-training across multiple production roles including camera, graphics, audio, lighting, virtual reality, and more. Production Technicians are team players with good communication skills and a strong sense of organization and work under the direction of clients or VPM staff to meet production goals. Production Technicians prepare studios and equipment for each production or event and are expected to resolve technical issues as they arise.
This overtime-eligible position must be responsive to the whims of the production studio nature; while it will largely follow a Monday to Friday schedule, scheduled night and weekend shifts are common — as are surprise long days.
This is an exciting time to join VPM as we settle into our new Downtown Richmond location!
As an independent, non-profit service, we believe attracting and retaining diverse staff is crucial to serving our community and fulfilling our mission to create and serve a more informed public.
