Job Summary
Flipside Gaming is both a local and national toy, hobby and collectible brand. Founded by gaming enthusiasts for gaming enthusiasts, Flipside aims to bring an incredible gaming experience whether you’re part of our local community, purchasing from our direct website or shopping on many of our omni channel retailers.
This role will be a foundational finance hire as the first finance hire at Flipside Gaming. The Controller will report directly to the CEO, helping build the core finance and accounting functions as we scale the business. Everything related to accounting, reporting and tax filings will be owned by this role. This will be a department of one for the foreseeable future but that will growth with the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping
Monthly close
Financial reporting (GAAP / Cash)
Budgeting and forecasting
Cash management
Sales tax compliance (Nation-wide)
Income tax coordination with outside CPAs
Business licenses and state registrations
Banking relationships
Inventory accounting
Audit support
Acquisition integration
Building the finance and accounting team over time
Qualifications:
- CPA
- 7–12 years total experience
- Has been an Assistant Controller, Controller, or Director of Finance
- Experience with inventory businesses
- Experience managing outside tax advisors
- Experience with multi-state sales tax
- Has been through QOE / GAAP Audit
Pay: $130,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
