Purpose:
The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and assembly of industrial machinery and equipment. This role demands technical expertise, precision, and the ability to interpret technical diagrams and blueprints. The Millwright ensures equipment operates efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize productivity internally or externally for our clients.
Responsibilities:
Installation & Assembly – Assembles and installs industrial equipment and machinery, including conveyor systems. Aligns machinery and secures it to foundations using tools such as levels, plumb bobs, micrometers, and alignment instruments.
Maintenance & Repairs – Conducts routine maintenance to ensure optimal equipment functionality. Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues. Replaces or repairs defective parts, including bearings, gears and motors.
Inspection & Testing – Perform equipment inspections to identify wear and potential failure points. Tests machinery after installation or repairs to verify functionality and accuracy.
Blueprint & Manual Interpretation –Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer manuals to guide installations and repairs.
Safety & Compliance –Follows all Company safety and driving protocols and OSHA regulations. Uses appropriate PPE and ensures safe handling of tools and machinery. Reports any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
Other – Other duties, roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Skilled in using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
Knowledge of machinery installation and alignment techniques.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines with excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Physical Requirements:
Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and under varying environmental conditions.
Physical stamina to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
Manual dexterity for precise work with tools and machinery.
Capacity to lift, carry or transport materials and equipment fifty (50) pounds or more, regularly.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training.
Certification in Millwrighting or a related technical field preferred.
Welding Certification and experience with CNC machinery are a plus.
