Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty trucks to ensure optimal performance and safety. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, air brake systems, HVAC units, and electrical components using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid checks to extend equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Repair and maintain a variety of heavy equipment such as Semi's, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other large machinery.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Perform assembly and disassembly of machinery components during repairs or upgrades with precision.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during testing or troubleshooting procedures while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records including inspection reports, repair logs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
- Assist with on-site equipment inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate into costly repairs or safety hazards.
Requirements*
- Familiar with JPRO and Cummings software.* Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic with experience.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, HVAC units, suspension systems, and electrical diagnostics.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; experience with power tools is essential.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, tractors-trailers and vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with automotive repair procedures including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding environments while maintaining safety standards.
- Valid certifications related to vehicle maintenance or heavy equipment operation are a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
