Job Title: Office and Operations Manager
Hours: 35 hours per week. Monday through Friday. 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM regular office hours. In accordance with CA law you will receive fully compliant, uninterrupted, and duty-free breaks, including a 30 minute lunch break. Your hours must be recorded and approved by your supervisor. Any additional hours worked beyond your regular schedule must be approved in advance by your supervisor.
Compensation: $28-31 per hour, full time, non-exempt. 9 paid holidays. Two weeks annual paid vacation to accrue after the 90 day probationary period. Sick leave in accordance with San Diego ordinance and CA state law.
Reports to: Pastor and Personnel Committee
Summary: The Office and Church Operations Manager is the backbone of our organization, responsible for keeping systems running smoothly so the pastor and community can focus on ministry and mission. This hands-on role oversees day-to-day office administration, IT coordination, basic human resources, scheduling, rentals, and all administrative tasks. You are the initial point person for the office, grounds, operations, and outreach of Westminster Presbyterian Church. You are also the administrative assistant and right hand person to our pastor. The position requires a welcoming presence via telephone, online, and in person while managing the office, rentals, facilities, and organization operations. This position requires experience in handling a wide range of administrative, organizational, creative, and executive tasks, ability to work independently on site and remotely, and take initiative in accomplishing tasks. Must be flexible to adapt to change and focus as situations dictate. A 90 day probationary period with a progress review and subsequent reviews are required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates a warm and welcoming environment while managing the daily operations of the church.
- Serves as the point person for all inquiries to the church's main phone and email systems in a professional manner representing the values of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
- Coordinates scheduling of space rentals and activities for internal and external events and manages the church's calendars, correspondence, and filing of electronic and paper records.
- Manages office facilities, including equipment maintenance, vendor relationships (internet, copiers, building maintenance), greeting visitors, unlocking/locking church areas for use, and keeping office and public spaces appropriately stocked with inventory and materials.
- Prepares mailings, weekly e-blasts, church bulletins, social media posts, newsletters and other written/electronic materials in accordance with internal and external deadlines and proofreads all materials.
- Updates and manages all social media platforms and website.
- Keeps office and staff organized and on task by tracking project and initiative progress.
- Coordinates installation of new systems as needed, for example: a new wifi system, a new telephone system, video streaming system, sound system, and re-keying the property.
- Works closely with elders, committee chairs, bookkeeper, treasurer, and other volunteers to assist in ministry areas where needed and coordinates campus care with gardeners, cleaners, and contractors as needed.
- Creates publicity and promotes upcoming events.
- Creates and maintains accurate membership and email lists.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Post secondary degree preferred with 3-5 or more years of related experience in office management required.

-Valid driver's license required.
Work Environment: We are a lively campus on 3 acres of land in the beautiful Point Loma community. We have a sanctuary, preschool, theater, outdoor amphitheater, community park, and community garden. We strive to be the hub of our community. Occasional additional hours on Sunday may be required. Westminster complies with CalOSHA workplace regulations. Due to the church's existing layout the position requires the utilization of stairs and the ability to lift twenty (20) pounds.
