About This Role
The Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting children to and from school and the childcare center in a timely and professional manner. This role requires strict adherence to safety policies, licensing regulations, and center procedures to ensure each child’s wellbeing during transport.
What You'll Do

Safely transport children between the daycare center and designated schools according to the daily schedule.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.

Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and center transportation policies.

Maintain accurate attendance logs for children during pick-up and drop-off.

Assist children in and out of the van, ensuring seatbelts are properly fastened and all children are safely secured.

Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and daycare staff regarding transportation matters.

Keep the van clean, organized, and stocked with necessary safety supplies (first aid kit, emergency contact list, etc.).

Report any vehicle issues, incidents, or delays immediately to the Center Director.

Support classroom staff as needed when not driving (optional based on center needs
Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age (or as required by state regulations).

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
-
Previous experience working with children preferred.

Ability to pass a background check, driving record check, and drug screening.

Strong communication and time management skills.
-
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
