Job Summary
Our firm is looking for a candidate with great drive, willingness to learn, motivation to strive independently, & character that will serve our clients exceptionally! We are located near the Baltimore Inner Harbor. You will be tasked with managing an assigned caseload handled by (3) attorneys.
Duties
- Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on case status while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Support attorneys with administrative tasks as needed, ensuring smooth operations within the office.
- Prepare legal documents and general correspondence in an accurate and timely manner; draft standard correspondence; proofread, edit, and format documents.
- Contact client’s treating physicians to coordinate medical care and treatment.
- Schedule and prepare client for Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) appointment.
- Prepare and submit medicals to IME physician.
- Experience in workers’ compensation and understanding of the laws and procedures associated with the area of practice.
- Collect information from a client by asking informative questions that will be beneficial for the client’s claim.
- Possess good communication skills to answer any questions that actual or potential clients may have.
- Monitor the progress of each claim and obtain updated information by communicating with the client’s health care providers, adjuster, and worker’s compensation agencies in their respective state.
- Obtain and review the client’s medical records, documents provided from the client’s adjuster, wage information and correspondences from opposing counsel in order to prepare the attorney’s case for mediation, hearings or trial.
- Open new files and submit medical record requests as needed.
- Must possess excellent critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Typing (at least 60-70 WPM)
Experience .
- Candidate MUST have at least (1) year of experience in a legal or administrative setting. Education under a legal studies program or in Workers’ Compensation would compensate for experience.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize adequately while providing exceptional customer service.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
