Job Summary
We are looking for friendly and motivated Meat Counter Associates to join our retail team. Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting meats and provide knowledgeable advice on cuts, preparation, and cooking methods.
- Operate meat processing machines safely to cut, slice, and prepare various types of meat products.
- Perform trimming and butchery tasks to prepare fresh cuts of beef, pork, poultry, fish, and other perishable goods.
- Package meats properly to ensure freshness and quality while maintaining visual appeal.
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to keep the work area clean and prevent contamination.
- Conduct visual inspections of products to ensure quality control standards are met.
- Support inventory management by rotating stock, checking expiration dates, and reporting shortages or issues.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail store environments or food production is preferred.
- Knowledge of meat processing machine operation and slicing techniques.
- Basic math skills for accurate portioning and pricing.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures.
- Experience with butchery, meat cutting, trimming methods, and food handling techniques.
- Strong knife skills and understanding of culinary principles related to meat preparation.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse shoppers.
