Position Summary
Italkraft is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Designer to join our design team. The Designer is responsible for transforming design concepts into accurate technical drawings and production-ready documentation for custom cabinetry, closets, kitchens, bathrooms, and other luxury interior millwork projects. This role works closely with designers, project managers, production teams, and installers to ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, and meet Italkraft's high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom cabinetry and millwork projects.
- Develop shop drawings, construction documents, elevations, sections, and installation details.
- Interpret architectural plans, interior design drawings, and client specifications.
- Prepare production-ready drawings for manufacturing.
- Revise drawings based on design changes, field measurements, and customer feedback.
- Coordinate with project managers, sales consultants, and manufacturing teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Verify dimensions, materials, hardware, and construction details for accuracy.
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards, building codes, and manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Assist with product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support installation teams by providing technical clarification when needed.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate design updates effectively.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of CAD drafting experience, preferably in custom cabinetry, millwork, furniture, or interior construction.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Experience with Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, SketchUp, SolidWorks, or similar design software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry construction methods and materials.
- Ability to read architectural and construction drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong mathematical and spatial reasoning abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
