Position: Operations Coordinator
Location: Johnstown, CO
Reports to: Operations Manager- Distribution
Exempt (salary) or nonexempt (hourly) position: Exempt
Full time position
Pay: $80K to $90K based on experience and qualifications
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 4:30pm, with possible additional hours or days as project requires.
Summary
An employee in this position is responsible for on-site safety support, procedure reviews, pre-construction site checks, post-construction site checks, managing inventory/orders of material, and locate management.
Candidates must have attention to detail and strong communication skills. They should have a teamwork mentality and willingness to perform other duties as required. Most importantly, candidates must be safety conscious of themselves and everyone around them.
An ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience in the natural gas industry. This is a direct hire opportunity with great benefits.

Responsibilities
- On-site Safety Support Function:
o Incident response
o Maintenance of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Pre-construction Site Check Function:
o Review customer work orders from PM’s.
o Pre-Construction Site Visits:
§ Walk the installation area with the Superintendent to determine running line and potential existing utility conflicts.
§ Verification of existing private & public utilities within the work area.
o Maintain a current understanding of client specifications.
o Take Pre-Construction pictures:
§ Pictures are taken of damages in Centerline’s proposed work area
§ Pictures are sent to the project owner advising them of the damage or if things need to be moved.
§ Pictures are saved on Daily Logs and archived in projects’ folders for future reference.
§ Potential use of drone video to document pre-construction conditions (i.e. concrete cracks, sidewalk damages, landscaping, gravel driveways, etc.).
- Post-Construction Site Check Function:
o Post-construction Site Visits
o Communicate with Jurisdiction when required:
§ i.e. - Timeline on permanent restoration
o Close-Out Permits
§ Bonds released, etc.
o Take Post-Construction pictures:
§ Pictures are saved on Daily Logs and archived in projects’ folders for future reference.
§ Photos of completed/final restoration: hard surface, soft surface, landscaping
§ Photos of general condition/cleanliness of site
§ Photos of condition of roads/sidewalks
- Inventory/Material Function:
o Material Ordering and Returns (Xcel’s BRIO process as well as other clients)
o Manage inventory and restocking process for materials and equipment used in the field.
o Coordinate with Pre-Construction and/or Construction Manager for reoccurring client material orders (stock)

- Creating and ensuring a positive, professional company image on the job site
- Must be able to coordinate and collaborate with multiple personnel from the field to the office
- Must be able to communicate effectively, have good teamwork skills and able to understand, comprehend, and follow directions in the workplace
- Accept supervisory accountability for the health and safety of all subordinate workers

Qualifications
- Prior experience the natural gas industry
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- MVR clean enough to pass our qualification matrix
- A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times
- Must be willing to travel to work sites
- Must have a quality work ethic and be committed to optimum customer service
- Must be able to work additional hours
- Ability to communicate information and ideas to others
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing to others
- Knowledge of the Natural Gas Industry, and its related materials and equipment
- General knowledge of computers
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words.
Work Environment
- The work environment will include a combination of desk/computer work, checking and moving materials in the shop/yard, and visiting worksites outdoors
- Workers will be required to use appropriate personal protective equipment, which may include respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, hi-vis clothing, hard hat, etc., as conditions, tasks, and requirements warrant
- Work situations may include being in the presence of “rotating equipment” and energized equipment. As such, workers must be cognizant of ensuring that the equipment is “Locked Out” before working within machine guards or in proximity to energized components
- Work situations include working on / near live utility lines such as natural gas, water, and electric lines
- Workers may work on and near heavy excavation equipment, vehicles, and trailers
- Work is regularly outside year-round and exposure to natural elements such as heat, cold, wind, and sun is to be expected
Physical Requirements
- The essential functions of this position consist of spending long periods of time in the physical activities of standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, twisting, kneeling, stooping, bending and crouching as required. This position also involves handling equipment ranging in weight from 1-100 lbs.
- Work may be performed in adverse environmental conditions such as confined spaces, high and low temperature environments, adverse weather conditions, etc.
