The Role
We're looking for a Landscape Account Manager to serve as the client-facing leader of our Maintenance Division. This role owns the relationship with our clients from the first handshake through every service visit — you'll be the person clients call when they have a question, a concern, or an idea for how to make their property even better.
While our Production Managers handle the day-to-day crew execution, you'll have oversight of schedules, route efficiencies, and production standards, making sure everything lines up with what our clients expect and what their contracts call for. You'll also keep an eye on account profitability, working closely with our Agronomics team to keep mowing and treatment schedules conflict-free.
This is a leadership role for someone who can mentor managers, solve problems on the fly, and never lose sight of the client relationship at the center of it all.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all maintenance clients.
- Conduct regular property walks with clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Proactively address service concerns and suggest enhancements or adjustments.
Operational Oversight
- Coordinate with Production Managers to ensure all contract services are scheduled and executed.
- Review recommendations from Production Managers on route efficiencies and crew composition.
- Ensure client expectations are translated into operational plans.
- Monitor account profitability by analyzing operational efficiencies and job costing, recommending changes as needed to protect profitability.
Interdepartmental Coordination
- Coordinate with the Agronomics Manager to avoid scheduling conflicts between mowing and treatments.
- Align Maintenance Division execution with company goals in partnership with the Operations Manager.
Training, Safety & Standards
- Ensure Production Managers are enforcing safety, training, and SOP compliance.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to Production Managers.
What Success Looks Like
- High client satisfaction, retention, and opportunities for upselling.
- Efficient operations through route and crew optimization.
- Deconflicted Agronomics and Maintenance schedules that prevent service conflicts.
- Consistent enforcement of EarthScapes standards through Production Manager oversight.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of account or operations management experience in landscaping.
- Strong client relationship skills and proactive communication ability.
- Solid understanding of maintenance practices, contracts, and scheduling.
- Ability to oversee managers while remaining customer-centric.
- Landscape Industry Certified – Lawn Care Manager (LIC-LCM) preferred.
- Valid Virginia Pesticide Applicator's License required.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
