Toddler Teacher (18–36 Months) | Reggio Emilia–Inspired Early Learning Community
We are excited to welcome a compassionate, reflective, and collaborative Toddler Teacher to our Reggio Emilia–inspired early learning community, working with children ages 18 to 36 months.
The toddler years are a time of incredible growth. As children become more independent, develop language, and strengthen their relationships with others, they learn by exploring, asking questions, solving problems, and engaging with their environment. We believe toddlers are capable thinkers with endless curiosity, and we create spaces where their ideas, interests, and discoveries guide meaningful learning experiences.
About the Position
As a Toddler Teacher, you will create a nurturing and engaging classroom where children feel safe to explore, express themselves, and develop growing independence. Through thoughtful observation, intentional planning, and responsive interactions, you'll support each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while building strong partnerships with families and colleagues.
Your role will help foster a classroom culture where children feel respected, encouraged, and inspired to learn every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming, responsive environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and joyful exploration.
- Build caring, trusting relationships that support each child's emotional well-being and sense of belonging.
- Observe children's interests, document their learning, and use those observations to inform classroom experiences.
- Plan engaging, hands-on activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, movement, and discovery.
- Support language development through meaningful conversations, storytelling, music, play, and everyday interactions.
- Encourage emerging independence while providing consistent guidance and emotional support.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to reflect on children's learning and strengthen classroom practices.
- Partner with families through open communication and shared commitment to each child's growth.
- Honor each child's unique personality, developmental pace, and learning journey.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with toddlers, preferably ages 18–36 months.
- A warm, patient, and relationship-centered approach to teaching.
- An appreciation for observation, documentation, and inquiry-based learning.
- Familiarity with—or a desire to learn more about—the Reggio Emilia philosophy.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
