Position Summary
Emerald Data Partners is seeking an Information Technology Intern who is eager to learn and gain hands-on experience supporting real-world IT environments. This internship provides exposure to helpdesk operations, endpoint troubleshooting, Microsoft 365 administration, and foundational cybersecurity practices while working alongside experienced IT professionals.
This role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field who want to grow in both technical skills and professional standards.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Assist with helpdesk support (tickets, troubleshooting, documentation)
- Support end users with common issues (Windows/macOS, printers, email, VPN, MFA)
- Help deploy and configure laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
- Perform basic network troubleshooting (connectivity, Wi-Fi, DNS/DHCP fundamentals)
- Assist with Microsoft 365 user support (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Document solutions in internal knowledge base articles
- Shadow senior technicians on escalations and client projects as needed
- Provide task-based support on larger IT projects, assisting with preparation, implementation, and follow-up activities.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated proactive steps toward an IT career path (education, certifications, personal projects, or relevant work experience).
- Basic understanding of:
- Windows 11 troubleshooting
- Computer hardware and peripherals
- Networking fundamentals (IP addresses, Wi-Fi, routers/switches)
- Strong communication and customer service mindset
- Reliable, organized, and willing to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with any of the following is a plus:
- Microsoft 365 / Azure AD (Entra ID)
- Active Directory concepts
- Ticketing systems (ConnectWise, Autotask, Zendesk, Jira, etc.)
- Basic scripting (PowerShell)
- Cybersecurity fundamentals (phishing awareness, MFA, endpoint protection)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
