Schedule: Monday through Friday, Day Shift (8:30am-5pm)

Enjoy working as a Staff Pharmacist for a healthcare organization helping people prevent chronic illness. The organization is small, growing and home to people who truly care about the health and well-being of their clients. It’s a “roll-up your sleeves” and get things done atmosphere. Work with a few medications in this mostly mail order pharmacy. This is a fast-paced environment.
- Fill prescriptions, verify instructions from prescribing practitioners on the proper amounts of medication to dispense to patients. Work collaboratively with administration and physician staff to provide quality care.
- Contact providers to complete insurance prior authorization forms and work with insurance companies to be sure that patients receive their medicines in a timely fashion.
- Conduct drug clinical screening to ensure that prescription(s) will not interact negatively with other drugs including non-prescription medications that a patient is taking or health conditions the patient is being treated for.
- Counsel patients on how and when to take a prescribed medicine and any potential side effects they may experience from taking the medicine. Advise patients about general health topics, such as diet, exercise, and managing stress, and on other issues, such as what equipment or supplies would be best for a health problem.
- Keep records and other administrative tasks.
- Licensed pharmacist which requires graduating from a college or school of pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), such as a Doctor of Pharmacy Program (Pharm.D.) program and passing the North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam, or NAPLEX.
- Hold a current, unrestricted pharmacist license in NY.
- Successful experience as a pharmacist in a high-volume, retail, or online pharmacy setting. (100-250+ scripts/day)
- Appreciable standing or walking about is required. Manual dexterity is required for sustained periods.
