Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and support the overall operations of our practice. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment committed to animal health and well-being. The Certified Veterinary Technician will also play a key role in training fellow paraprofessional staff on essential skills such as venipuncture, animal restraint, and history taking.
Duties
- Perform technical procedures including blood draws, injections, and other diagnostic tests under veterinarian supervision.
- Assist with patient examinations, surgeries, and treatments to ensure smooth clinical operations.
- Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures, providing critical support for safe anesthesia administration.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document all procedures performed.
- Educate pet owners on post-operative care, medication administration, and general health maintenance.
- Train fellow paraprofessional staff on venipuncture techniques, animal restraint methods, and effective history taking to promote team development.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and treatment areas in compliance with safety standards.
- Support inventory management by ordering supplies and maintaining proper stock levels.
Experience
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician from an accredited program is required.
- Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific procedures.
- Willingness to train and mentor fellow paraprofessional staff on clinical skills such as venipuncture, animal restraint, and history taking is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are highly valued.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, safety protocols, and animal handling techniques is advantageous.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
