Job Summary
Wayside Fence Supply is hiring a hands on Yard Manager to lead daily yard operations at our Newington Connecticut branch. This role is ideal for a strong local leader who values organization, accountability, and teamwork.
You will work directly with the Branch Manager and take ownership of all outside operations including yard flow, loading accuracy, safety, and customer experience for contractors and customers throughout the greater Hartford area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead yard staff and daily operations
- Oversee accurate loading of flatbeds and customer vehicles
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard
- Enforce safety standards and equipment procedures
- Train and hold team members accountable
- Support Branch Manager with outside operations
- Deliver consistent above and beyond customer service
- Use technology to track inventory and workflow
Qualifications
- Yard Foreman experience preferred
- Experience loading flatbeds and building materials
- Forklift and yard equipment experience
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Comfortable using technology and systems
- Self starter with strong attention to detail
- Customer service focused mindset
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
